canada day and evening play...

We're so excited for it to be July!

all set and ready to go watch the parade!

taking it all in...

it's serious business figuring out which float will throw candy next!

enjoying some candy...and no, that isn't infant-onset acne or chicken pox...the mosquitos love Avery!
That evening we enjoyed a walk along the beach to a little park.

Fun on the slide...

Our girls...

Roosters, Rides and Endless Roads...

Well - our (read: my) summer holidays have officially begun! And we decided to kick things off with a trip to the Lake to celebrate Jim's mum's birthday! It was just a "quick" trip there, being that we were only able to stay Saturday to Monday early morning, but it was nice to have some serious quiet time after a somewhat hectic 10 months!

Here's a little rooster we got Mum - he sits at the door to the now-completed "Kitchen"!

While we were there the girls were having the time of their lives - we feel so blessed to have this place to go to and the family to spend time with!

Swinging with Oma...

Here's a picture of the Kitchen, fully finished! And they have added some little decks to both buildings - I think it's a nice touch!
Our little cabin...adorned with a deck! Oh yeah...and while we were there, they hooked up a real toilet...that flushes!! I'm slightly excited about that ounce of civility!

Oh yeah - and while we were there Jim and Ron hooked up a real toilet...like one that flushes!!! I'm slightly excited about that ounce of civility!!
Here's Jim trying to avoid me capturing a moment of relaxation...

Reluctantly allowing the documentation, but the moment was totally lost!

So, I thought I'd document ME... relaxing! Don't you just love my attire?! Yes that IS a Mac Jacket! You know you waaaaant one! Should you choose to come a pay us a visit, there are plenty of jackets to go around!

And of course, what's a trip to the lake if we didn't take the quad out for a spin??

So, there you have it - the rooster, the rides - oh RIGHT...the endless roads! Well that simply refers to the fact that 10 hours in the vehicle there AND back was a tad too long for our girls to manage! Heck - it was almost too much for ME to manage! Don't know that we'll be doing that short of a visit again any time soon! But now, looking back, it was worth it!
`
Now, onto more adventures this summer has in store!
`
Blessings to you...

102nd Post!

Well now - I just realized that two posts ago was my 100th post! How anti-climactic!! So, I figured I'd take this opportunity to try and make ammends.
.
Here goes nuthin'....
.
Recently we were able to celebrate the Girls' Half-Birthdays! Anyone's birthday is fun for me, so given that these poor chickies both have their "full" birthdays in December, I've decided that our family will embrace (for the sake of gift-giving with an excuse) Half-Birthdays! Yay!
.
The song even fits..."Happy Half-Birthday to you..."
She's a tad excited...wouldn't you say?!

Busy at work...eating only the cake that is slathered in icing!

Avery was ready to take-off while we were singing, until...

...she got a taste of the icing!

Mmmmm!!! Getting ready to dive in for the rest!

I think she likes it!

And now...

for some other pictures....

...taken here...

and there....

documenting...

sisters exploring...

...their new backyard!

...our new backyard!

What?? New?? Backyard?? I know!!!! SO many questions!! And the answer is "yes"!

We have become official homeowners as of last Wednesday! We take possession in a few months, but that's besides the point! We feel excited to say the least! And blessed beyond ALL measure!

Thanks be to God...

Daddy's Day...and Holiday

Hellloooooo - and Happy Father's Day! Not applicable to most (if not all) of you, I'm sure! However, I know you all are able to celebrate today in some form! We did! And we are ever so proud to be able to! Jim is such an incredible Daddy - and Husband! He adores his girls - all 3 of us and we enjoy having him to us! Today was no different...although nothing I would have asked for had it been my day!

Jim and I are very different...to say the least! So, where I would love a day filled with plans and events, Jim would (and did) enjoy a day with little to no plans and just doing "stuff" around the house that needs to get done - so Fatherly! So "get things done" we did! And his 2 little helpers may not be who/what you expect...

introducing... Husqvarna

and Stihl!

And they were of ample assistance while tackling a hefty challenge!

Doesn't he look SO happy?? He's actually trying to see thru all the dust!!

So...we enjoyed coffee, tools, munchies and naps! All in all...the perfect Father's Day!

And...not long ago, Jim was also able to convince me that I can mangae without him for a couple nights! He headed up to his folks' property, got a peek of what's been going on and even got a few hours in on his old machine! Not to mention several photo-ops...

And the number of buildings is growing...

The newst building on the block - from the inside! It's a kitchen/living room!

Duke...so handsome!

The Lake

Needless to say, the girls and I did survive with some help from Jim's Oma and Opa - whom we had a nice visit with while Daddy was gone! So nice, in fact, we invited ourselves to stay another night...they were MORE than thrilled!

Anyhow - that's it for now...Hope you have a great week!

I'm still standing...

...well not literally!! But I AM still here - contrary to what these posts look like!! So, don't get too excited..this is NOT the post to end all posts, but rather one to let you (sole reader) know that I am still here and looking very much forward to getting "back in the swing of things" in approximately 20 more sleeps!!! That is when I become a jobless Mum again - and am so excited about it!! Don't get me wrong, this job has been priceless - perfect hours, perfect staff, perfect school! But I bit off more that I would have liked - more than is healthy for my hubby and girls! So...come months' end, Mummy's back and we're on the move!!
We would never be where we are today if it weren't for me getting this job - and for that I am forever grateful! But I also feel as though God allows things to happen that we've been asking for just for us to get a taste of it and realize!
So...here's to 20 more sleeps and the return of "full-time-Mummy!" - which includes more frequent posting!
In other news: life's great, we're great, weather's great! Great! Until next time...enjoy the time you have where you're at - we are where we're at for but a moment...for a reason! DO you know the reason?

Better Late Than Never...

I have an issue with time! Not that I am ever late for anything, but I am surely never early! So, given that tid-bit of information, you'll understand the title of this blog!

Easter weekend was enjoyable - filled to overflowing with things to do, but "normal" and enjoyable! I was freakish about trying to get some pictures of the girls during this weekend - especially in their "Easter Attire," and was able to snag a few...and although the spirit/feeling of Easter is long-since past, I am really enjoying these photos and hope you do too.
`
~ Easter Morning ~
Mmmmm...
...Chocolate for Breakfast!!
Their very own "My Little Ponys"
The Hunt is on...
As for my lack of blogging...nothing really to report as a cause! Life has gotten to the point where I am sinmply holding on for the ride! And trying desperately to remember not to forget - appointments, events, meetings, school-schedual, other things I have said "YES" to! Nothing to complain about, however, that's for sure - other than my memory is certainly nothing like it used to be!
`
So...there's much more needing to be updated, but this is it...for now! I am SO looking forward to this up-coming weekend where I will be blessed with some priceless time with my dearest, longest friends - and getting to run in the BMO Marathon, the 8KM option!

~Blessings...to you!
