Roosters, Rides and Endless Roads...

Well - our (read: my) summer holidays have officially begun! And we decided to kick things off with a trip to the Lake to celebrate Jim's mum's birthday! It was just a "quick" trip there, being that we were only able to stay Saturday to Monday early morning, but it was nice to have some serious quiet time after a somewhat hectic 10 months!

Here's a little rooster we got Mum - he sits at the door to the now-completed "Kitchen"!

While we were there the girls were having the time of their lives - we feel so blessed to have this place to go to and the family to spend time with!

Swinging with Oma...

Here's a picture of the Kitchen, fully finished! And they have added some little decks to both buildings - I think it's a nice touch!
Our little cabin...adorned with a deck! Oh yeah...and while we were there, they hooked up a real toilet...that flushes!! I'm slightly excited about that ounce of civility!

Oh yeah - and while we were there Jim and Ron hooked up a real toilet...like one that flushes!!! I'm slightly excited about that ounce of civility!!
Here's Jim trying to avoid me capturing a moment of relaxation...

Reluctantly allowing the documentation, but the moment was totally lost!

So, I thought I'd document ME... relaxing! Don't you just love my attire?! Yes that IS a Mac Jacket! You know you waaaaant one! Should you choose to come a pay us a visit, there are plenty of jackets to go around!

And of course, what's a trip to the lake if we didn't take the quad out for a spin??

So, there you have it - the rooster, the rides - oh RIGHT...the endless roads! Well that simply refers to the fact that 10 hours in the vehicle there AND back was a tad too long for our girls to manage! Heck - it was almost too much for ME to manage! Don't know that we'll be doing that short of a visit again any time soon! But now, looking back, it was worth it!
`
Now, onto more adventures this summer has in store!
`
Blessings to you...

Daddy's Day...and Holiday

Hellloooooo - and Happy Father's Day! Not applicable to most (if not all) of you, I'm sure! However, I know you all are able to celebrate today in some form! We did! And we are ever so proud to be able to! Jim is such an incredible Daddy - and Husband! He adores his girls - all 3 of us and we enjoy having him to us! Today was no different...although nothing I would have asked for had it been my day!

Jim and I are very different...to say the least! So, where I would love a day filled with plans and events, Jim would (and did) enjoy a day with little to no plans and just doing "stuff" around the house that needs to get done - so Fatherly! So "get things done" we did! And his 2 little helpers may not be who/what you expect...

introducing... Husqvarna

and Stihl!

And they were of ample assistance while tackling a hefty challenge!

Doesn't he look SO happy?? He's actually trying to see thru all the dust!!

So...we enjoyed coffee, tools, munchies and naps! All in all...the perfect Father's Day!

And...not long ago, Jim was also able to convince me that I can mangae without him for a couple nights! He headed up to his folks' property, got a peek of what's been going on and even got a few hours in on his old machine! Not to mention several photo-ops...

And the number of buildings is growing...

The newst building on the block - from the inside! It's a kitchen/living room!

Duke...so handsome!

The Lake

Needless to say, the girls and I did survive with some help from Jim's Oma and Opa - whom we had a nice visit with while Daddy was gone! So nice, in fact, we invited ourselves to stay another night...they were MORE than thrilled!

Anyhow - that's it for now...Hope you have a great week!

Soaking up the Sun...in 3ft snow!

Well - it won't be a long post...but I finally got connected up here, so I will take the opportunity while it's available!!

We got to Oma and Opa's late Friday night after a LONG week of anticipation - on all of our parts! And thanks to Jim's fervent prayers to NOT have to work we had: one snow day and 2.5 days off for him while he fixed our fuel pump - located conveniently inside the 115L gas tank, which was thankfully almost empty! Praise the Lord my man is handy, because it was a job that would have cost us more than $1000 to fix if we had to bring it in to a shop!! So...once that was all fixed and the snow was on it's way out, we began our journey north-ward! And have been basking in the sun ever since!!
Having fun "practising"...
...on the Snow Day, before we left!
This...

...and this make for a nice, quiet start to our trip!!
`
This girls are having an absolute BLAST up here with their Oma and Opa and the dogs! It is so cute to watch Karys as she finds things that have been absent for 7 months, she gets this look on her face and says "Mummy...I remember this!!!" Avery, of course, has no recollection of any of her surroundings, but it enjoying herself just the same!! And Jim and I are both in our glory as well - I have been reunited with my scrapbooking/card-making supplies and Jim has the time to be "fixing" little things on our vehicle!
`
It's amazing to see all the "stuff" we have and have forgotten about becasue it's been in boxes for 7 months!
`
So...I hope that you all are having a great week -wherever you are!
Oma's Buns and Karys' Buns! YUM...

Plushka (sp??) Delish!!

Big fun with a Big puppy!

She takes this "snow business" very seriously! And has a BLAST!!
